WRU
Why have the Welsh Rugby Union partnered with Ticketmaster and Seatwave?
The WRU has used Ticketmaster's ticketing technology for many years. The use of Ticketmaster's resale platform, Seatwave, means that the WRU can verify each process, offer a more flexible ticket service and the WRU can receive a greater insight into the ticketing needs of fans and clubs.
How will the service benefit Welsh Rugby?
Ticketmaster will invest in rugby in Wales, and the resale platform will mean that clubs can now resell tickets and keep any extra money raised through the sales. This continues the WRU's aim to continue to reinvest more money into Welsh Rugby. By offering a resale platform, all parties will have more choice and flexibility when buying tickets for Welsh Rugby.
What if tickets are still available for the fixture at face value?
Under the terms of the agreement, should tickets still be available at face value, supporters will be informed of this within the relevant fixture on the resale platform and therefore are provided with a choice to purchase at face value or continue to use the official resale marketplace.
Which tickets can be sold through Seatwave?
Tickets for all Welsh international matches at Principality Stadium can be sold via Seatwave. This includes RBS 6 Nations games and Autumn Internationals.
Who can sell tickets through Seatwave?
The following tickets are permitted for re-sale:
- Clubs
- Debenture holders
- Supporters Club
- Public sale
Who can't sell tickets through Seatwave?
The following tickets are not permitted for re-sale and would not be verified by the WRU:
- Sponsors
- Staff and Directors
- National Squad
- Ex-international players
- Referees (current and present)
- Secretaries (current and present)
- Disabled and carers
- Competition winners
- Away Union
- Hospitality
- Complimentary tickets
How do you guarantee that the tickets are genuine?
Only tickets that have been verified by the WRU can be sold on Seatwave. A sale will not be confirmed until the WRU has established that it is valid for re-sale. This process is the same whether it is a club, debenture holder or a fan selling the ticket. Once a sale has been completed, the WRU will cancel the original ticket - meaning that the original ticket will be void and cannot be used - and they will reissue the ticket and send it to the buyer.

Is there a restriction on the amount of tickets that I can buy from Seatwave?
There is no limit to the number of tickets that you can buy on Seatwave and all purchases can be made through one account. Groups can easily buy a number of tickets or purchase additional tickets at a later date using the same account.
How many tickets can be resold via Seatwave?
The WRU is able to the limit the amount of tickets which are resold by clubs. There are no restrictions for debenture holders, supporters' club members or members of the public when reselling tickets via Seatwave, but all tickets sold via Seatwave will be verified by the WRU.
What happens if my ticket is not supplied or something goes wrong with my order?
The WRU will verify each ticket sold on Seatwave, whether it is sold by clubs, fans, debenture holders or supporters club members, before a sale can be completed. The buyer will then be issued a brand new ticket by the WRU and the original ticket will be cancelled. This will ensure that tickets cannot be duplicated and only genuine tickets will be sold. If you have any issues throughout the process, Seatwave has a UK-based customer contact centre that is happy to help with any queries that may arise.
If a match is cancelled and I bought tickets from Seatwave will I still get a refund?
Yes. Buying with Seatwave is like buying a ticket directly from the Welsh Rugby Union. If a game is cancelled or re-scheduled and the Welsh Rugby Union offers refunds to ticket buyers, Seatwave will do the same. If the event is re-scheduled, you will be entitled to a valid ticket on the revised date.
What price can tickets be sold for?
There is no price cap on tickets that are sold above face value, but Seatwave will offer guidance throughout. This includes average listing price and selling price for comparable tickets.
What do Seatwave charge for ticket sales on the platform?
Seatwave charges booking fees to sellers and buyers upon successful sale. The WRU does not earn anything from these booking fees. Upon successful sale a seller is charged a fee calculated as 10% of the ticket listing price (excluding VAT). A buyer is charged a booking fee calculated as 15% of the ticket listing price. It is free to list tickets for sale, no charge is incurred for tickets that do not sell.
Will the tickets be really expensive on Seatwave?
Tickets will be available at face-value, above and below. When tickets are still available at face-value, Seatwave will inform buyers of this at the point of sale. Seatwave's ticket marketplace features pricing advice and options to ensure that when fans sell a ticket and set their price, they choose a price which reflects the market value. The Welsh Rugby Union and Seatwave will offer guidance to all people who choose to sell tickets on Seatwave. This will include information such as average listing and selling prices.
